Scott Moe Announces Candidacy For Saskatchewan Party Leadership

Published on September 01, 2017

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Today, along with his family and several members of the Saskatchewan Party caucus, Scott Moe announced his candidacy for the Leadership of the Saskatchewan Party.

“I am inspired every day by the people of our great province and everything we have been able to achieve in the last ten years,” said Scott. “The Saskatchewan Party’s founding members and Premier Brad Wall knew the potential this province had and that vision is as true today as it was 20 years ago. Renewal is not just about one person, it’s about stepping forward together as a team to stand with Saskatchewan and ensure the foundation that Premier Wall built remains strong.”

Jim Reiter, Minister of Health and MLA for Rosetown-Elrose introduced Scott at his launch at Q-Line Trucking in Saskatoon.

“I am proud to call Scott a colleague and friend. He has become a leader in our caucus and Cabinet and I know he is the best person to lead our team and the Saskatchewan Party forward,” said Reiter. “The strong team of Saskatchewan Party MLAs that have come forward to endorse Scott is evidence of this.”

Scott was born and raised on a grain farm between Shellbrook and Parkside and was educated at the University of Saskatchewan where he received his Bachelor of Science in Agriculture. Scott was first elected to the Saskatchewan Legislature in the 2011 provincial election. He has served as the Minister of Advanced Education, Minister of Environment, the Minister responsible for Saskatchewan Water Corporation and Saskatchewan Water Security Agency and a member of Treasury Board.

Scott and his wife Krista live in Shellbrook and have two children.
